IF I WERE THE PRINCIPAL OF A COLLEGE English Essay
Being the Principal of a Junior College
is no mean task. If I happen to become one, I would definitely make
many changes to ensure the smooth running of the college. My main focus,
of course, would be on the students.
The main purpose of a college
is to provide the youth with good education in a free and comfortable
atmosphere. Providing such education would be my main concern. I would
hold meetings regularly with the lecturers to find out what problems
they face, and how these problems can be solved.
When the teachers are happy
then only they will be able to give their best to the students. I would
also interact with the students to find out what their difficulties
are. I would encourage them to come to me with their problems and
suggestions, and take steps to solve these problems.
This would give the students
confidence in me, their Principal. If necessary, I would also involve
the parents in these discussions. I believe that extracurricular
activities are very necessary for the proper development of students. So
I would lend my support to various clubs to carry on activities of
promoting literature, science and sports.
I would show my interest
by being present at some of the competitions organized by these clubs. I
believe that participation in social service is very necessary for
students-it helps them to become sensitive individuals, and inculcates
qualities of leadership in them.
I will see that my college has a
good hall and a spacious auditorium for college functions. Whenever
possible, I would try and organise social service camps on behalf of the
college. I have always taken interest in sports, and believe that
'Health is wealth'. So I would see that my students get every
opportunity to take part in sports.
Development of the body
and mind should always go hand in hand. So I would also see that my
college has a well-stocked library, and books which the students can
refer to, any time they wish to Thus, I would do my best to create
conditions where the students and teachers can do their best.
My greatest reward will be in seeing these students become good citizens of their country, and proud of my institution, their alma mater.
