Essay on College Function in English
Introduction-am a student of L.S. College, Muzaffarpur. It is one of the oldest colleges. In Bihar several functions are held in our college every year. The prize distribution function is one of them Sports and cultural programmes are arranged on this occasion.
This year we made the function a grand success. Our college was given a new look. The education minister of Bihar presided over the function. Function begins Arrival of VIPs-The function was to start at 10 O'clock in March last. All the students of the college reached there by 8.30 O'clock.
The vice-chancellor arrived at 9.45 a.m. The education minister with some other V.I.Ps reached the college at 10 a.m. sharp. We welcomed them all. A large number of people gathered around the playground.
Slow cycle race-The function started at 10.15 a.m. First of all the slow cycle race started. It was a very interesting item. The tug of war was another item. Both students and teachers took part in it. It was really the most interesting item of all.
Prize distributiontion-After the items were over, the education minister gave away the prizes to successful competitors. This took about an hour. Then he began his little nice speech. He advised the students to labour hard.
He said that physical training was an important part of education. He also asked the students to take part in games and sports. He praised the students of this college for a high sense of discipline.
Conclusion-At last, our principal proposed a vote of thanks. He expressed his happiness over the visit of the education minister to the college. He also thanked all the visitors, teachers and student who had made the function successful. We all returned home happily when the function was over. Such functions always create a sense of new life in students.
