Essay on Indiscipline

 Essay on Indiscipline

Indiscipline is one of the major curse, India is facing since a long time. Unless a society or a person does not observe discipline it is very difficult to maintain peace. Democracy does not only offer rights, it also demands duty and discipline.

Disciplinary action by a person can do so much for the betterment of the surroundings. When we buy or eat something, we just throw away the discarded material on the street or on any public space. Thereby adding rubbish.

In the public gardens, during journey or any public/holy places we just throw away garbage. Isn't it indiscipline? Most of the government servants do not justify their position. They come late or do not work sincerely.

Every now and then they leave the office and this result in no disposal or delayed disposal. This is nothing but indiscipline. By destroying national property people present their anger but at the same time there is national loss.

Indiscipline has percolated from top to bottom. Common man follows the so called political leaders. In parliament, legislative assembly, in Z. P. meetings what one sees on T.V.? We do not see serious or studied discussion, but most of the time we see only chaos.

What common man will learn from that? Ideals laid down by Gandhiji, Nehruji, Vinoba, S. Patel, Sawarkar, S. M. Joshi and many such respectable leaders is followed by nobody. Everybody is interested in muscle power and money power.

Different unions are interested in strikes only for their selfish motives. They are not interested in improving quality of service. This is again indiscipline.Western culture is very sensitive about discipline and hence their roads, public places, cities are very clean and attractive.

Children are brought up in that environment and hence they are such as disciplined. If same teaching is followed, India will be much better than what it is today. India is a democratic country. The very base of democracy is discipline. Equality, freedom and harmony are the pillars of democracy.

But these pillars cannot stand firmly if there is no discipline. The ultimate power rests with the public. No democracy can survive without discipline, observation of norms, rules and social ethics by the people.

We must learn to follow the rules. Discipline should be obeyed in every field. It should start right from the schools and colleges. There is an urgent need to emphasize more on duties, social obligations, discipline and commitment.
