A Visit To An Exhibition Essay English
Last Saturday afternoon, I visited the industrial exhibition held at the Azad Maidan. I was with my parents. Many people seemed'interested in the exhibition, for there was a long queue for tickets. We purchased tickets, and then went in through the gate into the ground.
There was a great hustle and bustle inside, and the ground was full of people.There were craftsmen from different parts of India who had come to sell their work by exhibiting them. We visited stalls displaying carvings in metal and wood.
There were also stalls of embroidered fabrics, pottery, earthenware and brassware, furniture, plastic goods and many other things. A whole section of the exhibition was devoted to machines and appliances.
The display and demonstration of a wide variety of computers was simply fascinating. My father was particularly interested in office equipment, and my mother in domestic appliances. My sister remained for a long time in the section dealing with cosmetics and readymade clothes. I liked the stalls of sports equipment.
One section of the exhibition displayed models of our various national projects. We felt proud to see the tremendous progress made by our country after independence. The exhibition also provided entertainment for small children-there were cinema shows, magic shows, giant wheels and merry-go-rounds. Then, of course, there were stalls offering refreshments.
The displays were so good, and the salesmen so knowledgeable and persuasive that we felt like buying up the entire lot. There was a lot of choice, and a lot of discounts were available too. When we were tired out, we relaxed for a bit at the refreshments stall, having some light snacks and icecream.
It was late at night when we left the exhibition site. Our hearts were cheerful and happy, our feet were heavy, our bags were full of the various things we had purchased, but our purses were almost empty!
